Falmouth Harbour Commissioners (FHC), the statutory body responsible for managing Falmouth Harbour, will be hosting its annual public meeting this month.

The meeting, which will take place at The Poly (Falmouth Polytechnic Society) at 7.30pm on June 19, is open to members of the public interested in the future activity of FHC, as well as its current work.

The event will be led by chair of the board, Carrie Gilmore, and guests will have the opportunity to hear a presentation on FHC’s marine safety management from chief executive and harbour master, captain Mark Sansom.

This will be followed by a talk on stakeholder engagement by deputy chair, Tony Tomlinson, and chair of the consultative committee, Ian Munday.

Updates will also be given on FHC’s leisure arm, Falmouth Haven and on Falmouth Pilots Service. Members of the public and media will also have the opportunity to ask questions and the FHC 2017 annual report will be presented during the meeting.

Gilmore said: “As a town, Falmouth is entwined with the harbour so we relish the opportunity to engage with the community and share details of the Commissioners’ work. The event will focus on looking ahead and will present a great opportunity for members of the public to put questions to the board. As always, we very much look forward to welcoming those who can attend.”

Members of the public are invited to arrive at The Poly on Church Street in Falmouth (TR11 3EG) from 7pm. Presentations will commence at 7.30pm.
