Businesses in Cornwall were given an insight into how to use digital technology to remain competitive at Superfast Business Cornwall’s ‘Tech for Growth 2017’ conference in Wadebridge last week.

The event drew SMEs from across Cornwall who were inspired to adopt digital technology for growth through a series of keynote speeches and workshops.

The event welcomed keynote speaker Jon Hogg, chief marketing officer at the blur Group, who spoke about the benefits of weaving technology into business.

ITEC MD, Nick Orme, shared his business’ experience of migrating to the Cloud and its benefits. And to reinforce the idea of embracing technology to stay competitive, the managed service company, who have recently worked with the Sahara Force One India Formula 1 team, arranged for an F1 racecar simulator to be available.

Ross Facey, operations director at Maen Karne, who attended the event, said: “Tech for Growth was a perfect opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from people who have been on or are about to embark on the next stage of their business’ digital evolution.

“I have come away with a reinforced belief that resources invested to this aim, with the expert guidance of Superfast Business Cornwall, will both bolster existing activities and perfectly position our business for the opportunities and innovations that lie ahead.”
