Launcells Barton, a family-owned, Grade II* listed manor house near Bude, has embarked on an ambitious new project to create one of Cornwall’s most sought after wedding venues.

Work has already begun to restore the Georgian manor house and make use of the disused agricultural buildings, which were once a working dairy farm to create a ceremony barn, licensed outdoor walled ceremony garden and guest accommodation.

Current owners Matthew Stokes and Lara Gill have been working tirelessly to transform the house ready for this next chapter and are looking forward to the completion of the final phase of work.

The next stage of work sees the creation of a purpose-built events barn which will accommodate up to 200 seated guests and up to an additional 150 evening guests.

Stokes said: “We have spent a great deal of time and thought on the concept and design of all the spaces and locations available for weddings. For the new events barn, we wanted to keep the character of Launcells Barton and feel of our Georgian house apparent.

“We wanted to combine English country charm with a rustic farm feel, to create the perfect atmosphere for couples and their guests to relax throughout their special day.”
