A Cornish company is providing one of the prizes in the latest ‘McDonalds Monopoly’ promotion.

The fast food giant runs the prize promotion each spring, offering a wide range of prizes from free food to cash and, this year – skateboards.

Redruth-based Mello Skateboards is providing 1,500 of its build-your-own LED cruiser skateboards as prizes.

And the campaign, which started on March 16 and runs through to April 26, is already having an impact on Mello sales.

Marketing manager, Angie Tiller, said: “We thought there was a good chance interest might not take off until after the campaign had ended due to the ‘I might win one’ factor.

“It’s really great to see the exposure is having an impact earlier than expected.”

Mello is owned by established Cornish business, The Dash Group, which has a history selling big-brand skateboards via two of its e-commerce websites.

The Dash Group is perhaps better known in Cornwall, however, for its logistics-based brands such as Dash Drive vehicle hire, Dash Selfstore and Dash Express warehousing and distribution.
