Local green technology specialist, ZLC, has fitted a Solar PV system on the roof of Trebah Garden’s visitor centre.

The new installation is expected to reduce energy consumption by an estimated 25% and save over 28,500 kg CO2 a year – the equivalent of planting 28 trees per year.

Trebah’s marketing and business development manager, Jonathan Bray, said: “Because we are a garden, looking after the environment is a natural thing to do and we wanted to improve our green credentials.

“It’s a bonus that we’ll get a feed in tariff and save money, which means we’ll be able to spend more money on plants.”
