Cornwall Council’s strategic planning committee today (Dec 17) gave the green light to the new development, at Callywith, which will serve north and east Cornwall.

David Walrond, principal for Truro and Penwith College, said: “We are delighted that Cornwall Council’s strategic planning committee has voted to support the planning officer’s recommendations.

“The decision of the committee supports the findings of the Council’s own commissioned independent, external impact assessment which concluded that a new campus would deliver far-reaching benefits for Cornwall.

“We now look forward to working with Cornwall Council, the LEP, local democratic representatives, businesses and employers to bring the benefits of the high-quality education and training provided by Truro and Penwith College to learners and the wider communities of north and east Cornwall.”
