An historic north Cornwall wedding venue has expanded its business model.

Pengenna Manor, an estate near Wadebridge, has unveiled four newly-renovated bedrooms for the use of guests.

The luxurious rooms allow newly-wed couples and other guests to stay overnight at the manor house for the first time.

Proprietor, Richard Blewett, whose family have lived at Pengenna for 150 years, explained: “Cornwall has so much to offer as a wedding destination, including fantastic local suppliers.

“However people no longer want just an afternoon event – they want the celebration to last a whole weekend. Now that we can offer accommodation here at Pengenna, we are anticipating even greater demand for weddings and lavish parties in beautiful, historic surroundings.”

Pengenna Manor has medieval origins and has been through several reincarnations – including a dramatic extension during the reign of Elizabeth I and additions in the 18th Century.
