Cornish businesses were among the winners at yesterday’s Taste of the West Awards.
The awards, now in their 22nd year, celebrate the best food and drink across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire and are a benchmark for excellence across the region.
Among the winners at yesterday’s (Sept 28) ceremony held at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton, was The Cornish Fishmonger, which won the Best South West Online Retailer Award.
Tanglewood Kitchen from the Isles of Scilly triumphed in the Savoury Bakery product category, while the Cornish Cheese Co took the Cheese category for its vegetarian Cornish Blue.
Other local winners included The Cornish Duck Company and the Padstow Brewing Company, while Tregassow Farming Operations won the Carol Trewin Producer of the Year Award in recognition of being an “entrepreneurial, successful producer of food and drink”.
