A Cornish business has more than doubled in size since moving to a Cornwall Innovation centre.

Pool Innovation Centre (PIC)-based Bluesky Business Support has grown from three members of staff to eight and since established a strong client base in London and Cornwall, as well as taking on projects for neighbouring clients at the business incubation centre operated by Plymouth University.

Beckie Pascoe, co-director at Bluesky alongside Emma Mills and Kate Whitaker, said: “Being based at Pool Innovation Centre has given us a fantastic networking opportunity, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without the help and support of the PIC team. The centre is a real champion for businesses like ours.”

Pool Innovation Centre is one of three business incubation facilities set up to support growing businesses in the county, with centres also located at Tremough near Penryn and at Treliske in Truro.

Richard Scutt, manager of Pool Innovation Centre, said: “We are passionate about supporting entrepreneurs to start and grow their companies and it is always very rewarding to know that another business based here is thriving and growing.

“Bluesky is a real success story and it is fantastic they are taking on more staff and clients – including many that they have met at networking events and workshops held here at Pool Innovation Centre.”

Bluesky offers services from bookkeeping to project management and administration.
