TRAC Services, which offers pharmaceutical regulatory affairs expertise and is based at the Pool Innovation Centre, received the recognition after entering the Business is GREAT Britain competition.

The company was awarded the Highly Commended title for the south west.

Sarah Trethowan, co-director and founder of TRAC, said: “The team are very excited to receive this recognition.

“To be the only firm across the south west to gain a highly commended is a great achievement.

“We work with clients in the pharmaceutical industry across the globe and our aim is to be dedicated regulatory experts adding value.”

According to judges, TRAC was among the top entries and narrowly missed out on getting through to the national phase of the competition.

Matthew Hancock, Business Minister, said: “TRAC Services is a brilliant example of a successful small firm run by enterprising and hardworking people.

“We are backing them all the way and, with advice and support on offer, there has never been a better time to start and grow a business in the UK.”

The Business is GREAT Britain campaign aims to celebrate and inspire small businesses and is run by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and BT Business.
