New figures show that the south west is home to over a fifth of the UK renewables projects installed by homeowners, landowners and businesses under the Government’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme.
The figures also reveal that under the FiT, the south west, at a total installed capacity of 436 MW, has more installed capacity than any other region in the UK.
And the figures, which do not cover larger ‘utility’ projects over 5 MW, reveal that the south west has 2.5 times more solar capacity than the regional average.
