Redruth-based Richfords Fire & Flood returned home from the British Damage Management Association’s annual conference and award ceremony with a clutch of silverware.

Project Manager, Jon Henry, was recognised by the BDMA judges as Young Achiever of the Year; senior technician, Aubrey Hocking, was handed BDMA Technician of the Year; while marketing director, Michael Cooper, collected an award for Richfords as a whole for Damage Management Project of the Year.

Meanwhile, company founder Steven Richford, who is also one of the BDMA’s directors, told delegates at the conference that the organisation would be working with the BSI (British Standards Institution) to formulate a British Standard for Damage Management.

This would mean, he said, that anyone who calls in a company following damage to their property, could expect an industry-agreed level of professionalism and work.
