New Business Space opened

A new business training facility in Launceston has been opened this week by Launceston’s Mayor, Rob Tremain.

The Business Space, based in Dunheved House and run by Cornwall College Business (CCB), is a newly-refurbished meeting and conference facility, where courses, apprenticeships and qualifications as well as meeting and conference rooms are now available.

An official opening ceremony was held this week and attended by representatives from the local business community, Kim Conchie from Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, Cornwall College senior managers and board of governors, Jack Jackson, Principal of Launceston College and staff from Cornwall Council.

The Convergence-funded venue is managed by CCB in partnership with Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) and Cornwall Council and follows in the success of CCB’s Plymouth and Truro Business Space venues that opened in 2009 and 2011.

Dave Linnell, principal and CEO of Cornwall College, said: “We are so pleased to be able to have a permanent site in north Cornwall to enable us to provide better services to businesses in the area.

“We have undertaken extensive consultation with the local business community about the kinds of training they require and we look forward to welcoming more businesses to the venue to demonstrate the training options available.”
