Last weekend’s 2012 Boscastle Festival has been hailed as the best yet.

The Michelin Men (l-r): Nathan Outlaw, Paul Ainsworth and Chris Eden

In excess of 3,000 people descended on the village over the weekend to enjoy a wide range of local produce and crafts on offer from more than 60 exhibitors.

Cornwall’s trio of Michelin Star chefs – Nathan Outlaw, Paul Ainsworth and Chris Eden – were also in attendance with live cookery demonstrations.

Event chairman, Michael Parsons, said: “The atmosphere in Boscastle over the weekend was unbelievable, not just in the festival marquee but at all the events around the village.

“We are already receiving really positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike, which bodes well for next year. It was certainly our best festival yet and we anticipate it will have raised in excess of £4k, taking our total over the past seven years beyond £30k, all for the benefit of local charities and organisations.

Jon Scott, owner of The Waterloo Restaurant in Boscastle’s Wellington Hotel, added “We had such a tremendous line up, such enthusiasm and generosity from the local community, visitors and of course, wider support from renowned Cornish businesses.

“The Boscastle Festival is a testimony of the triumph that can be achieved out of adversity, it is a uniquely heart warming event.”
