Businesses embracing innovation and technology are invited to a free seminar being held by experts from Coodes Solicitors and Winter Rule Chartered Accountants.
The event – Managing Intellectual Property – on Tuesday, March 22 at Pool Innovation Centre will explore issues around protecting an innovation or new technology, including intellectual property (IP), finance, patent law and tax efficiency.
Four legal and financial experts will present, followed by a Q&A session for delegates to raise specific issues.
Christian Wilson, corporate partner at Coodes, will present on legal issues surrounding IP such as protection, licensing and how to document financing.
He said: “Cornwall is a hotbed of talent and innovation so we were keen to collaborate with Winter Rule to offer expert advice to businesses and individuals at the early stages of an exciting new idea.”
Winter Rule’s corporate finance director Richard Wadman will discuss preparing for business innovation including business planning, raising finance and exit planning.
They will be joined by Winter Rule Tax Partner Peter Penneycard who will present on tax efficiency and Christian Ziar, Patent Attorney at NJ Akers & Co who will provide insight on patent protection.
