The county’s largest training provider, Cornwall College Business (CCB), has unveiled details of a new range of short training courses.

CCB has worked closely with the local business community to establish a range of specialist courses focused on business growth, performance and efficiency.

CCB’s Tamsyn Harris said: “We’ve listened to what our clients are asking for and have introduced courses that meet that need.

“Change management and lean manufacturing have been particular areas of growth for us, as local companies look to restructure and make efficiency savings.”

Available as part of the new offer are short courses in Change Management, Coaching with Neuro-linguistic Programming, Lean Service Management, Event Management, Carbon Management and Planning for Energy. Delivered by industry professionals, courses are run over four to six days, making them accessible for those already in employment and with other commitments.

“By developing new skills your business can open up new markets,” explained Dave John, who is leading development of the new courses. “This new group of programmes can help managers identify ways to diversify, respond to change, lead more successfully, manage resources and processes efficiently, and guarantee events are well planned and successful.”

The new performance-boosting short courses are modules from Foundation Degree courses, awarded by the University of Plymouth. They are available at a subsidised rate through the support of the ESF (European Social Fund) Convergence Programme and the Skills Funding Agency (subject to criteria).
