According to latest figures, Cornwall has one of the highest rates of successful apprentices in the country.
National Apprenticeship Service stats say that nearly 3000 people started an apprenticeship in Cornwall last year, more than 1000 of them 16–18 year olds. And 79.3% of apprentices in the Duchy completed their apprenticeship successfully – one of the highest rates in Britain.
In the south west, statistics reveal that the most popular subject areas for apprenticeships are currently retail and commercial enterprise, business, administration and law and engineering and manufacturing.
