Cornwall Care celebrates age and ambition

Cornwall Care, the region’s largest independent care provider for older people, is taking part in a groundbreaking event on Thursday, October 8 at Kingsley Village, Fraddon.

The event, The Celebration of Age and Ambition, organised by Age Concern in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will take place from 1:30pm – 4:30pm and is expected to attract more than 300 older people, their friends, family and carers for an afternoon of activities and information.

A team of staff from Cornwall Care will be on hand to offer advice and guidance on all of the services they offer, from care homes and home care services to respite care and their newly launched service, My Progress Plus.

The Celebration of Age and Ambition will provide visitors to the event with information from a host of service providers as well as offering people the opportunity to try out a range of activities.

Douglas Webb, Chief Executive of Cornwall Care said the event would provide an opportunity to share ideas and learn, he commented: “This event is a fantastic way to engage with people.  At Cornwall Care we are committed to great customer service and this means delivering meaningful care, listening to our clients and doing what we can to offer people the services and facilities they really want.”

The celebration event is also being supported by Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust, who will be running a health and well-being zone, good mental health zone plus an activity zone with information on staying healthy and active.

Other participants include: Cornwall Council, Tremorvah Industries, NHS Direct, Community Energy Plus, Cornwall Air Ambulance, Coodes Solicitors with advice on will-making, Cornwall Community Foundation, the Samaritans and Citizens Advice Bureau.
