Continuing to mark its 60th anniversary year, WC Rowe’s bakery welcomed MP Shadow Minister for Cornwall, Mark Prisk, for a tour of one of its production facilities on Bickland Industrial Estate in Falmouth this week.

After singling Rowe’s out as a successful Cornish business that is continuing to expand through the economic downturn, Prisk, a key member of David Cameron’s business enterprise team, was keen to discuss Conservative plans for reform of government support for business with directors from the bakery, including managing director Alan Pearce.

“We were delighted to host Mark Prisk at our Falmouth production site, which is where we hand-crimp all our famous pasties” said Pearce. “The fact that they identified us as a thriving local company and wish to find out our opinions with regards to business policy is very pleasing.”

Prisk said: “Rowe’s is synonymous with quality and it is clear we need more successful family businesses like this. I congratulate them for their first 60 years.”
