Press Release

Administrators from the leading business rescue, recovery and restructuring specialist, Begbies Traynor, have been appointed to manage the affairs of Sunnyside Holiday Park Ltd and have announced that its site at Quintrell Downs, near Newquay is to be sold.

The former caravan site has planning permission (granted in 2006) for 91 detached log cabins and associated works for holiday accommodation. Explains Ian Walker of Begbies Traynor: “Sunnyside Holiday Park Ltd has experienced operating difficulties and so is not in a position to pursue its original plans for the location which is just 3.5 miles north west of Newquay. This is, however, a very important development and we have already had a considerable amount of interest both locally and nationally.”

The administrators have appointed Alder King as agents for the sale.

Says Tim Smart of Alder King: “The 31.52 acre site includes a building previously used as a nightclub and games room, an old pub, an amenities building and a bungalow. It is particularly well located for access to local beaches and a number of attractions in the region. It is also likely to benefit from plans to enhance Newquay as a year round location. Since planning permission is in place, and much of the background work for a log cabin development has already been done, this adds further to the appeal of the location to potential purchasers with similar objectives.”

Enquiries relating to the sale should be directed to Tim Smart of Alder King (Tel: 01872 227005). Queries related to the administration should be referred to Gilbert Lemon of Begbies Traynor (Tel: 01752 252277).
