Business Cornwall: How is the business best described?

We are a small, friendly design studio working with a broad range of clients in a variety of different sectors producing, uncomplicated strategic graphic design with an approach that ensures clients needs, values and key messages are communicated through branding, printed literature, exhibition and online mediums. I believe in relationships with clients and would estimate that at least 80% of the people we work with are long term clients/ repeated business.  We feel that the better we know these clients the better work we are going to produce.

Business Cornwall: Why was the business founded?

I had come from a background working for known agencies in Cornwall, Bath and London wanted to bring the experience and approach to design work I had learned to smaller clients. I believed that with a changing economy, larger studios were going to be unable to support these smaller clients in a way that was sustainable for them. It started from there and grew and I have been unable to take a holiday since!!

Business Cornwall: How does the business compare to competitors in the industry?

Truthfully, I’m not interested in competitors – I focus more on the work we have and the clients we work with. I do think, however, if you are part of a design community or group which is looking to help the industry in Cornwall by doing things such as educating clients about things like the need to not promote free creative pitching then that is a good thing.

Business Cornwall: What are the business’s plans both short-term and long-term?

Short term carry on as we are – working with a client base who we really enjoy working with. Long time we have a couple of side projects we would like to spend some time on to bring to fruition.

Business Cornwall: How does the business define success?

If you enjoy what you do, who you do it for and where you do it – then that is success.
