Getting to London is even quicker than before

From April Flybe will operate a 118 seat Embraer jet aircraft on the Newquay to Gatwick route (which operates up to three times daily throughout the year). The larger jet will provide an additional 40 seats per flight (40,000 departing seats from Newquay over a 12 month period) – making air transport more accessible. The newer, more efficient aircraft will also help improve reliability and reduce journey times by ten minutes in each direction. You can also now use contactless payment or an Oyster card for pay as you go travel between Gatwick Airport and London on the Gatwick Express trains, so you can breeze through the barriers without having to queue to buy a ticket.

A new year-round service to Leeds

The latest new route to be announced from Cornwall Airport Newquay is a new year-round service to Leeds-Bradford Airport with Flybe. This new service is expected to commence in June, with five flights a week during peak periods and three weekly returns off peak, increasing the year-round connectivity with the North.

Amsterdam and Paris: both available on the Flybe network from Newquay

Flybe has more connections from Newquay than you may be aware of. Did you know for example that you can reach both Paris and Amsterdam on a single booking from Newquay? You’ll transit through Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham depending on the date and time you wish to travel. Simply select “Flight From” Newquay and “Flight to” Paris or Amsterdam (or indeed a host of other options), select your desired dates of travel and the Flybe system will offer you the best available connections to meet your needs. It’s that easy and you’ll be surprised what good value travelling in this way can be!

More options when travelling to Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England

As well as the direct summer services to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Newcastle and Belfast, it is also worth noting that these (and other destinations such as Inverness, Glasgow and Isle of Man) are also bookable as indirect services via Manchester. The benefit of this is increased frequency and options as to when you fly, making it easier to find the flight options that are most convenient to you. Once again, the Flybe system is set up to give you both the direct and indirect options where they exist so you simply select the option that best suits you and continue with a single booking.

Doing business in Ireland

The good news for those already doing business in Ireland (or thinking about it) is the fact that Aer Lingus have extended their service from Newquay to Dublin for 2016. Recommencing on March 14, the route will operate throughout 2016 with up to seven flights a week at peak times. This not only opens up easy access to Dublin but offers easy access to much of Ireland within a 2-3 hour drive from the airport.

Luxembourg, Cologne and Frankfurt direct

The new direct link with Ryanair from Newquay to Frankfurt-Hahn is equally convenient for reaching both Frankfurt and the city of Luxembourg, positioned centrally between the two and not a lot further from Cologne (all within a two hour drive) thus making this a great new route for those with business connections in Germany. The service runs twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays from the start of April.

Global travel with international carriers from Cornwall

If your business takes you further away from home it’s still possible to book and fly with your international carrier all the way from Cornwall. For instance, you can travel to Dubai with Emirates on a single ticket from Newquay. You’ll stop-over in Manchester, London or Birmingham but booking as a single ticket means you’ll check your bags in at Newquay and not see them again until Dubai; you’ll get your international baggage allowance all the way from Newquay; AND you’ll have full protection from the airline, meaning that if you miss a connection it’s their responsibility to sort you out.
