Barriers to growth: have your say

The Government has invited businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to form a Local Enterprise Partnership with the two Local Authorities.

It represents a significant shift in thinking. Away from prescribing what businesses need and towards listening to what businesses really want. This has the potential to transform policies and investments, influencing things like planning, skills, expenditure of EU funds and so on.

The main task for the Partnership is to “remove barriers to private sector growth”.

Of course, this presumes that there are barriers to growth. Working with Business Cornwall, the Cornwall Chamber is running a simple poll to test that assumption: is your business really held back by external forces and, if so, what are they?

More than ever it is vital that you register your opinion. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to set the business agenda for this part of the world. The survey is anonymous so that you can be really honest. We have kept it short to encourage as many as possible to respond.
