A local firm of independent financial advisers has renewed its commitment to local rugby with a new three-year sponsorship deal for the Cornish Pirates.

The deal sees the continuation of the relationship between the Pirates and Truro and Wadebridge-based IFA, Worldwide Financial Planning, which has sponsored the club for the last two seasons.

“I think it’s important that Cornwall has a rugby team that has ambitions to get into the Guinness Premiership, so that’s why I feel it’s vital that we continue our support and help the club push forward,” said Worldwide’s managing director, Peter McGahan.

“We really enjoy sponsoring the team and have had many fun days with our clients, associates and friends over the last couple of seasons.

“I’m very much looking forward to many more of those this season.”

As well as sponsoring the Pirate’s shirt, Worldwide are at the heart of the Stadium for Cornwall campaign and will once again support the scoreboard at the Camborne Recreation Ground.

Pirates’ chief executive, Rod Coward, said: “We’re really pleased to have the ongoing support of Peter and the Worldwide team. The players also really benefit from their financial advice as well.

“Worldwide get a great deal out of their sponsorship and have helped push the message of the Pirates out into the business community, which is great for us.

“Partnerships like ours are vital for the future success of the club and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
