May 11th to 15th is Cornwall Business Week 2009 with the Convergence Partnership Office supporting several of the organised events.

Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Convergence Partnership Office for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, will be attending Cornwall Business Awards (May 14) and the Young Enterprise Awards (May 13). Mark Yeoman, Deputy Director, will be supporting a Cornwall Chamber of Commerce breakfast event – ‘Business Support through Convergence’ (May 12).

Carleen Kelemen explained: “Cornwall Business Week is an opportunity to work with partners to showcase how successful our businesses can be and to highlight the range of support on offer to those just starting out or with the ambition to expand.

“Much of what is on offer is being supported by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund and ESF (European Social Fund) Convergence programmes. As with the previous European investment programme Objective One, the aim of both the Convergence programmes is to regenerate our economy. This will be done by supporting businesses through a range of investments in infrastructure, expert advice, finance, training and education.”

Other events during Business Week include the Cornwall Chamber Business Fair (May 12) on Truro’s Lemon Quay.
