The Tesco Home Insulation Service, the result of a partnership between Tesco and Tolvaddon-based Enact Energy Management Ltd, has been recognised for its contribution to tackling fuel poverty at a recent awards ceremony in London.

The project received the ‘Partnership Initiative of the Year 2009’ title at the H&V News Awards, which celebrates the achievements in the Heating and Ventilation industry.

Enact’s managing director, Adrian Liddell, commented: “This award is a truly remarkable achievement against some very strong competition, and is demonstrative of the partnerships innovative approach to tackling fuel poverty and contributing towards reaching Government’s climate change targets.”

Tesco’s head of greener living, Andrew Brocklehurst, added: “I am delighted with the award in a very hard fought category with a number of other excellent initiatives. I’d like to think of this as a reward for all the hard work within Enact, Tesco and all our partners in developing a service which is high quality, simple, cost effective and of great value to all consumers whatever their circumstances.”

Enact secured a partnership with Tesco last year, and together the two companies have embarked on a challenge to transform the energy efficiency industry and unite in the fight against climate change by assisting a target of over 500,000 households across the UK by 2011 through the installation of energy efficiency measures.
