Thursday night is set be the moment of truth for Cornwall’s top tourism businesses, as VisitCornwall presents this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.

No less than 40 establishments, from holiday parks to pubs, in every corner of the county, are on tenterhooks having reached the final “top three” in their category.

Each is now assured of at least bronze at the glittering event held at the Headland Hotel in Newquay, but all eyes will be on the coveted gold awards which can make a huge difference to profile and trade.

Kirstie Allsopp of ‘Location, Location, Location’ fame will be on hand to open the awards, which were created to highlight the quality and diversity of Cornwall’s tourism industry.

Preparing for the awards, Teresa Timms of VisitCornwall commented: “The awards always have a real feel-good factor to them and provide a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work of the people at the fore-front of the industry.

“Each year I am immensely encouraged by the enthusiasm and passion shown by the businesses represented and I look forward to sharing their good news stories and success on Thursday night.”
