Well known construction lawyer Chris Hoar has returned to the south west as the new partner heading up Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin’s construction team.

Leading national legal directories recognise Hoar as a leader in the field of construction law with Chambers praising him as ‘well respected for his personable approach’ and as “a vital link for a multitude of clients”.

He is a member of the Society of Construction Law and the Technology and Construction Solicitors Association as well as the consultant editor of Tottel’s Construction Law Newsletter. He holds the highly regarded Master of Science degree in construction law and arbitration from King’s College London.

Hoar has experience in all types of construction and engineering dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration, statutory adjudication, disputes review boards and alternative dispute resolution methods.

Previously he was with the London niche construction practice of Shadbolt.

Hoar grew up in St Austell before moving to London to qualify as a solicitor at international law firm, Allen Overy, and worked both in their London and Hong Kong offices for seven years.

John Westwell, managing partner of Truro law firm Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin said “Chris joins our team of 44 specialist litigators at a time when client demand for specialist dispute resolution advice has never been stronger. He complements our existing team with his nationally recognised profile in construction law which will really benefit Foot Anstey clients. The South West peninsula has missed a “regional heavyweight” in construction law for many years and Chris will more than fill this gap.”
