This qualification, gained through a series of examinations, acknowledges the required breadth of experience of insolvency procedures – both personal and corporate plus a full knowledge of all regulatory aspects of insolvency appointments.

Philips is also a member of The Association of Business Recovery Professionals known by the brand name R3—rescue, recovery, and renewal which specialises in business recovery, corporate reconstruction, insolvency and turnarounds.

Philips is part of Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin’s team of insolvency lawyers who regularly advise insolvency practitioners, creditors, directors and individuals.

David Turner head of Dispute Resolution at Foot Anstey said: “Qualified insolvency practitioners are currently in demand with the inevitable increase in insolvencies in this current recession.

“With 341 insolvencies in the South West in the last quarter of 2008 — a 40% increase on the 2007 figure of 243 and 1057 insolvencies in 2008, a 14% increase on 2007 we are unfortunately expecting the number to go on rising in 2009.

“We are very pleased and proud for Sian. Her new status means that Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin can offer clients the very best quality service when it comes to insolvency matters.”
